Theatres in America have these weird electric recliners now? When did this happen? I haven’t been in a theatre in maybe six or seven years.

Raises a lot of logistical questions. Like, how do they clean them? (I know, they don’t) In a fire, do they all go back to chair mode or do I have to recline it myself? Why did they do this?

Also, they didn't fix the shared armrest issue. This is a disappointment.

I’ve only been to second run theaters in the last 8 years or so , looks like I need to treat myself to an actual movie sometime.

Its part of an effort to keep movie theaters profitable and relevant in the age of streaming. Similar to the development of 3D movies to counter the threat of television back in the 50s.

The best part is being able to reserve your seat. No more scrambling to get a decent spot.

We watched the new Spider Man this morning. For some reason, a guy elected to sit right next to me, even though the theater was practically empty. The seat on the other side of my wife was empty. I moved.

Alot of them have been retrofitted within the last 15 years to entice people to come to the theater. Same reason why some theaters now have meal options that you can eat while watching the movie aka dine in theaters and yes they serve booze, or at least the one near me does.

I love them. Pretty much only go to the theaters that have them these days. Plus as BicycleBuck said, reserved seating

We went to see Spiderman today, and we were late because we forgot the tickets at home. Having an assigned seat is brilliant. I missed the first half of the Midway trailer, though. What little I saw of it makes it look a lot more historically accurate than that terrible Pearl Harbor film with Ben Affleck, where Alec Baldwin played Jimmy Doolittle and the Mitchell’s took off from an angled carrier deck.

Select theatres around the country also have this new thing called Dolby Cinema. It’s life changing and I won’t see anything that isn’t in Dolby Cinema.

Innovative seating: aka recliners with subwoofers in the damn seats.

Unparraled visuals: aka Dolby Vision. Two 4k laser projectors. The clarity is astounding.

And moving audio: Aka Dolby Atmos. They added channels on the ceiling, an a ton more speakers throughout. It’s also life-changing .

Now playing at AMC.

Ha, I love em. Found those shoes about a year ago brand new minus an insole abou t a year ago at a goodwill. Threw a set of crap “temporary” insoles out of my old nikes in them and have worn them every day since. Best $5 I ever spent. Soles are worn out pretty bad and the rubbery foam is s tarting to peel off the shoe and they’re stained to hell with auto juices and I don’t want to think what else, but they’re comfy as hell. I'll never find another thrift store shoe as good, I'm afraid.

Did you know that Jeb Bush met his wife in Leon, Guanajuato while he was an english teacher there, and that it’s the largest city in the state despite not being the capital?

I didn’t until I googled the city when the boss told me to go check a mall there.. . Road trip on monday I guess.

Of all the shoes I bought (and ended up selling), I still have my Pegasus 33 Jungle Pack editions I bought new a t Finish Line for $100 in 2016 (and that was a sale). I’ve been meaning to buy another pair of Pegasi for years, but they never have a colorful special edition. I’m glad you love yours.

I’m more frugal now (that Apple Watch was a lot, but it was an open box at Best Buy),  but they were my first big purchase. I was excited.
